Carly MacArthur

(she/her)

MSW, RSW

I believe if we come from a place of curiosity and compassion, there is much we can discover to help you feel better. I understand the discomfort in taking this first step and use the skills I have gained through my own healing, education and professional experience to help ease this. Clients have described me as a gracious, flexible, caring and insightful therapist. I bring humour to my work (when appropriate) as our capacity to laugh can support our capacity to endure pain.

I rely on a strength-based, trauma-informed and anti-oppressive approach as a social work-trained therapist. I graduated with a Masters of Social Work, Clinical Specialization from the University of Calgary in 2014, with an emphasis on remote and rural social work. Early in my social work education, I learned from Cree Elders, Indigenous Social Workers and healers. I honour the wisdom shared with me in carrying the lessons forward personally and professionally, in my commitment as a lifelong learner and in my duty to support care and repair.

I currently am not able to start working with new clients, but I am happy to meet for a free consultation to see if working together is a fit and I can add you to my waitlist. To help inform your decision to see if we can work together, my schedule offers in-person/online/phone sessions on Mondays and online/phone sessions on Tuesdays.
